E-mail virus warning

  MidgetMan 09:37 26 Jan 2004

Had an E-mail yesterday titled "urgent billing notice for your domain name" this was followed by what my .co address is

Opened the said e-mail and it said that unless urgent action was taken my domain name would become inactive as the bill had not been paid, and to open up the attached invoice.

Hmm thinks me, odd, did a right click and looked at the properties and loo and behold it seemed to indicate that it had come via the company that i buy the names from (123 reg)

Scanned the attachment and it contains a "dropper" virus. Obvously deleted it right away.

I have e-mailed 123 reg to let them know, but not had a reply yet.

So beware!!!!!.

PS, got another one this am but with a differant sender name.

Thanks for the warning; always good to keep before our minds the necessity of not opening attachments from anyone without a virus scan first.
