I have installed a pioneer DVR-106D,as secondary master. i can write to DVD-R and CDR no problems. when i try to write to drd+r the opperation seems to go right. i.e. the drive writes to the disc but the finished disc cannot be read by ANYTHING. i have tried 3 new drives, 3 different types of media. same result. i have updated to the latest firmware, same result. spec. as follows xp home, gigabyte ga-7vaxp mobo, 3 x 512 ddr pc 2700, athlon xp 2.2 cpu, lg dvd rom, plextor cd-rw. i have also tried on a new H/D with just o/s and DVD X copy, same result. a film i can backup to dvd-r works but the same film to dvd+r does not work. i have run out of ideas. I NEED HELP, this is becoming expensive scrapping blank media. i need no more beer mats.
DVD burners are not like normal CD burners, they are very picky over what media you use with some brands just refusing to work and some working fantastic. Dont forget Pioneer was the main force behind - so dont expect it to be hot when it comes to writing stratagys for + media.
I have same DVD-RW,and when I installed it,I had the same trouble.I "cured" mine by reinstalling EVERY b****y prog over again.I tried the ForceASPI and two different versions of ASPI layers before I formatted my drive and started afresh.
I too have the 106 and still haven't got it working properly. And I've reinstalled everything. Put it in another computer and it works fine. Sometimes I feel that I don't understand the problem...............
