DVD writers

Just bought a Samsung 16X D/L DVD writer to replace my trusty Pioneer drive,

Problem is - whenever I try to write to the new drive I get writing errors.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

What writing software are you using and is it oem which could be locked to the original drive.

Tried using Copy to DVD (which has always worked in the past) also Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD which came with the drive.

Starting to think I should re-install my Pioneer drive for the time being.

It may be that you are trying to write too fast to a disk, e.g. writing at 16x to a disk best suited to 4x write speed. Try matching the write speed to the disk speed in your writing software, before burning. I am not familiar with either of the software packages you use, but there should be an option to do this.

Think my Pioneer drive will not be redundant so soon.
