DVD Writer Troubles, New Media or New Writer?

I currently have the Toshiba SD-R5002 and am mainly using the Verbatim CD-RW's for video purposes, but am experiencing corruption at various stages on the copy, mainly at the end of the video.

Does anyone know if there's a problem with the Toshiba and Verbatim and do you think it's worth getting more media, or just upgrading the writer??

It has the latest firmware installed.

I would first of all try different media - it will be cheaper because if they work ok you will know tht it was the verbatim disks; if they don't work, then it could well be the writer.
