i have an iomega dvd/cd re-wrighter.
last night i tried to burn a cd and it has stopped working.
i have tried a new cd writer in my pc but this does the same thing, it says that the driver is installed but it cant find the device.
i also have a hard drive connected to the same ribbon cable but this is not affecting it because i have tried removing this and it still does the same.
i have checked all the cables and also replaced the ribbon cable just to be sure.
there is power to the drive but it just wont read or write anything.
im getting quite ratty now coz ive been trying to fix this all day and my back is starting to hurt from kneeling on the floor all day, so could somone please help me

from within device manager,
expand the ie/ata/atapi conroller then
uninstall the secondary ide channel reboot and let windows install the driver
