I want to record a slide show of my holiday photographs to DVD for showing on TV. Does anybody know of any free or inexpensive software I can download to enable me to do this?

Try click here.

The free trial only allows 50 pictures but it is not too dear to buy

Not to DVD but HP Memories Disk Creator will create a slide show to CD that will run on TV.

The .zip is 35mbs but I can either email it to you or put it on a CD and post it to you?

DVD Pixplay from Hamishes link. It allows you to make DVD, Svcd, Vcd and other formats. A free trial version allows you to use 50 photos to test it out. Registered version costs $30. USA.
I think it is worth the money and the forum support is excellent.

You may not need any software.
I have burnt folders of photographs to cd, put the cd into a dvd player and, using the navigation and play buttons on the remote, the pictures are displayed as a slide show on the TV.

Try pic to exe at click here

I have heard it is good and not very expensive.
I use ULead video editing software which gives transition effects and you can add commentary and music.
