i have got a dvd and made it into an image file on my hard drive with alcohol trial version but when i burned it, it said the data was too big to fit on the dvd. so i was thinking if there was a way to compress it and burn it on the dvd so that it would play in a dvd.

You need i think to make these files .ISO files
with somthing like this click here

1. Get 'ISO buster'
2. Open ISO buster and in the top left corner open 'File' then 'Image file' Now browse to the file you want. (your mdf file)
3. Create a folder in windows.
4. Drag/Drop the files into the new file you just made.
5. Burn the outcome.

Or click here to shrink it.

You might be better with click here this will make you a video_ts file then open your burning software and burn the _TS file to dvd.
