Dumping of physical memory

Can anyone help me? Am running Windows XP Professional and keep getting blue screen advising dumping of physical memory. Have 18gb harddrive, 256mb ram, 7200 processor. Can't always access programmes / internet as insufficient physical memory.

Try the above sites...

I would also do a full spyware check and full up-to-date virus scan. Use utilities like ADAWRE & SPYBOT and get a Trojan remover as well, just in case.

is that the exact error?

xp should run ok on 256 ram but really wants 512mb.you can however increase the windows swap file, its a part of the hard drive that is used as memory if you system ram is all used up.

click start/control panel/system/advanced/performance settings/advanced/virtual memory/change click on custom size and enter 768 in both the min and max size boxes and click set and ok.restart the computer.

buy some more ram if you can.
