Dump the Scum but How ?

  Derek 08:57 26 Feb 2003

I get about ten to twenty unsolicited emails daily which I either block or clear by using the usual means possible but....this morning I get a dreadful one using my own email name sending it to myself !

Any experiences out there ?

Check for viruses first, Then download, install, update and run Adaware6, Spybot Search and Destroy and Spywareblaster. It's possible you don't have a virus but someone with your email address might have.

Confused somewhat by advice from MAJ, This is simply Spam. Download mailwasher.

There are certain viruses that send themselves to your own email address and to the addresses of everyone in your address book. That's why I also suggested that a "contact" might have the virus instead of Derek himself. These viruses also disguise the address from which they are sent.

Advise your ISP about receiving an email 'from yourself'.

Then see the advice at click here and click here
