Where have you seen the Data for the Drive?????

If in Disc Management why not first create a Partition with the unallocated space, then check in managment to see if it will merge them. You will not be able to murge a unallocated part of the drive in a simple windows program. You would need Acronis DiscDirector Suit 10 to do it

You can always set up the unallocated portion of the drive as a drive D - then use drive D for storage of media files/etc and quick backups.

Disc Management will do that for you.
