Drive letters in xp incorrect

I have recently done a clean install of windows Xp but the boot drive is shown as G drive and the optical drive as C. I would like to change this but disc management tells me I cant change the letter of the boot drive. Any suggestions. Everything boots ok just that I always want boot drive as C drive
