drive copy

what program is best used for copy all the data (including programmes and windows) from 1 hard drive to another, i currently have a 100Gb Western Digital and i'm getting a 250Gb Maxtor, is it possible to copy the data with no problems.

In answer to the other part of the question, YES. Everything will be moved to the new disk. If you use Acronis choose the clone option.

IMHO the best is Acronis True Image - this will clone your drive and make it bootable - so you can simply do the copy, swap your drives - and away you go.

It's also great for backups - you can image your drive into a compressed backup on your second drive, that can be restored with the boot CD it creates.

You will also find that most drive manufacturers offer you a free download of a drive copy and install routine - but whilst free and does the job, it's no use for the future as a rael backup program.
