Downloading from YouTube using Freemake

Hi Everyone

Sometimes I download video clips on car repairs such as changing the timing belt etc. Normally I have done this by using Freemake Video Downloader, the clip I want to download may be on YouTube but now all of a sudden I'm required to sign into my YouTube Account in order to execute the download. I'm using Windows 10.

Two questions; 1. Does anyone know why since the start of 2018 do I need to sign into my YouTube Account?

  1. Is there a work around?

Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right dirction.

Just tried it and its doing the same for me.

I can only guess it is because the site is now a secure (https) connection as many sites including pca have become in an effort to keep the web safer.
