Does winamp play ogg files?

  Tim1964 22:25 08 Sep 2003

I have some music files in .ogg format which I play using winamp.
I ask the question because I want to send one of the files but can't remember if I downloaded a plug-in for winamp to play the files or if it does it anyway. The person I'm sending the file to isn't that PC literate so may not know about that file type.

I have checked out a few .ogg to .mp3 converters but I haven't been able to get them working.

Yes it does. Easy CD-DA Extractor 6 converts .OGG to .MP3 very well (as well as almost all sound formats).

Thanks mark500,

I'll leave the thread open a bit longer before 'green ticking'

IIRC there is a plug-in for winamp that allows you to play the files..perhaps someone else could provide a linky.
