i have just recieved an email supposedly from Microsoft with a Dos attachment.the email says that it is the latest update patch for ms outlook and ie6. it look quite convincing.i take it this is a virus? or is it an actual update.not that it really matters to me anyhow as i made th e very brave jump of using just linux on my primary machine.if it is a virus then how would i complain about it, or can i?
NEVERIt is a virus. DELETE>G
No it is a spoof mail containing a virus. Just delete it.Microsoft, anti-virus companies never send updates or patches by e-mail.
No, not ever - All they are likely to send is an email saying an update is available and suggest you visit their web site.DO NOT INSTALL ANY UPDATES SENT, PURPORTING TO BE FROM MICROSOFT OR OTHER SUCH COMPANIES, BY EMAIL
No - not ever.
thanks guys just had to be sure
