Do i need the Temp File?

  Bracador 22:00 28 Apr 2007

Hi there,

Every time i use my computer it seems to run slow and freezes up. I run my virus scanner and it finds small infected files mostly in the temp file.

Can someone please tell me why this happens and is there a way to find where the virus is comming from ?.

Thanks for your time,

Any chance of the virus's name? You can delete temp files if you wish.

Hi, delete the Temp folder in C:/Windows, then reboot. This will/should clear the temp files and hopefully take any nasties away too. When you reboot Windows will make a new Temp folder.

If you still have problems, run your Anti-virus in Safe mode.

Start>Control Panel>Internet Options
Delete Temp Files. Do this once a week and you`ll be OK. Unless you`re saving cookies do the same to them.

If you download and install Crap Cleaner click here then it will delete your Temp files and save the necessary Cookies every time you boot up.
