Do Ask really need customers so badly...

That they inflict their search engine on unwary folks who run a downloaded program and don't spot the 'Make Ask the default search engine', so losing their beloved Google?

No need to single out Ask as there are many other programs bundled with the software we want and even wary PC owners can be find that they have installed some other program inadvertently. Holds my hand up.

At least Ask is simple enough to remove unlike some programs.

Lady I know has a laptop and keeps getting these programs, it's a full time clearing up the mess still gives me an excuse to see her.

I notice that a number of company's that use to have tick/untick boxes for other products are now stopping this practise, and just introducing their own products.

Perhaps a case of complaints coming in from the unaware, and the company's involved have decided to take action in retaining loyal customers?.
