Dll_.ini problem

  treacle99 10:20 24 Jan 2010

I have started getting error message "Failed to extract file Dll_.ini from the binary table."
Google search brings up some ideas to stop this error message but none work.

Can anyone help to stop this irritating problem and is it a danger to my PC?

Could be the file is corrupt. Can you get a fresh copy and install over it?

Thanks johndrew but I don't know what file has caused the problem.

You don't mention what you are trying to do when this message pops up, and does it stop what you are doing or can you carry on?

Is the message as you have written it, or does it say "something failed to extract file dll_ini..... ?

I presume you have tried the kellys korner "fix"

Go to Start/Run and type in:
msiexec /unregister [click ok] (note space before slash)

Then Start/Run and type in:
msiexec /regserver [click ok]

Have a look here click here

There is a tool here click here

You could also run Ccleaner or a similar registry cleaner to see if that helps. It may clean the bad dll file which would lead to a message telling you that xxx.dll couln`t be found.
