.dll files changing after Trojan found - virus?

Having installed Outpost Firewall I didn't realise for a while that it was blocking AVG updates. Once I resolved this I found I had been infected by some trojan.

AVG managed to clear this up, but I now found that I'm now continuously getting messages from Outpost asking permission to approve updates to various .dll and other system files.

This seems a bit coincidental, has the trojan done something it shouldn't and should I take any other precautions? I'm on Win 98

Use google to find out what the various .dll files are.
