dlink dsl g604T - wpa or wep

i have posted this on help forum but probably better on this on.

for the dlink wireless modem/router should i use wep or wpa security? which is more secure? If i do a view available networks it picks up several of my neighbours so i guess they can see mine as well. I am single pc user ie no home network/sharing etc.

WPA is more secure. Think of any reasonably long and unguessable password, enter it into the router when setting up and your PC when you connect to the wireless network - you only need to do it once and the PC will save it for future use.

perfect - thanks Brundle

If your router can support WPA2 encryption, use this! This is the most secure wireless encryption as I know. WEP is simple too vulnerable, and WPA encryption can be hacked as well.

Yes, I should have said WPA2 but you're hardly at risk with WPA and decent password.
