DIY External Hard Drive - IDE -v- SATA (+Firewire)

  pc_sausage 15:34 23 Feb 2006

looking at getting an Icy Box, plus a hard drive to make my own external kit.

However, there doesn't seem to be Icy Box (or other) enclosures that support SATA & have firewire connections.

Do they exist?

Or, should I:

1) Get a box with IDE support & firewire connection
2) Get a box with SATA support & USB2 connection

What HDD do you have or want to get, when you answer that question you have your choice

Your best bet is a USB2 Firewire caddy
