Disposing of an Old Laptop

Hi All. I've an old HP Compaq NX6110 laptop (was my son's) which has a broken screen (don't ask) and whilst it still powers up the hard drive has been removed. My question is it now safe to dispose of it, in terms of there will be no further information held on the machine now the HD's gone? Appreciate if you could let me know. Many thanks

you remove any possibility of personal data being compromised - it's safe to dispose of the machine by taking it to your local refuse disposal centre.

It's better you sell your laptop and get one new good one. You can sell online at best prices at

Not a great market for laptops with no hard drive.
