Display settings problem

  ProblemSolver 18:32 29 Jun 2004

Hello, Folks, 'I'm stumped'; the "display settings", on my
Philips 107E Monitor, have reverted to 640 x 480 pixels,
(16 colors, and 2 colors, only). The screen display
is now bigger than the screen area; some programs won't install,
without a display of 256 colors(or more)
I am running Windows 98SE, ( having upgraded to Windows Millenium,
to try to alter this 'display' situation, and reinstalled Win98SE, and
re-started, using the 'start-up' discs), still no joy. Has anyone any idea
what I might have done wrong, and how I can rectify this situation,
do need to do a 'registry fix'. and how do I do this, please?.

right click the desktop and choose properties, choose setrtings tab and advanced, choose adaptor, properties, driver and update the driver for this device. You may need the w98 disk in the drive.

You may need to re-install your MoBo drivers so that the AGP Port is enabled.

it certianly sounds like a driver problem. what drivers are listed in controll panel>display for your monitor and Vid. card?
