When I perform a disk clean up I get an Illegal operation message. It says this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. The details reveal the following

If i understood it maybe lol,try doing it manually by going to temp folder in windows.

have you tried running it in safe mode.

I used to get a similar message when I downloaded the (then) latest version of the nVidia driver and I used to have to use safe mode. Doesn't happen with the latest driver so must have been a bug I suppose.

Best of luck.

I assume that you are running XP

You could try a check of the system files. With your XP CD in the CD-drive go to Start > Run and type in ( or copy and paste this ) sfc /scannow This will fix any corrupt or damaged system files.

No. I am on Windows98 and use IE5 as my web browser. It was ok a few days ago. it has just suddenly started to go wrong.

It could be worth running system file checker(from Start> Run type in'sfc') to see if any system files are corrupted or missing.
If that fails to solve the problem, greater minds than mine will spring to your aid!.
