Disabling startup programs

  Loomis 14:57 04 Apr 2004

When I start up my computer, I always have the little icons down in the right hand corner of the screen for individual programs. I would like to disable these so they won't keep appearing, and slowing down my start-up time. I've gone into my control panel, and a number of other places, but I can't find anything to disable these programs. I right click on the icon, but there is no item that says disable at start-up.

Go to start, run and type

Under the startup tab, you can choose what runs.

Also check your startup folder in the program files menu.

click here for a list of what each name means, if they are obscure.

and click here for a list of what runs.

Also, give your OS - there are otherways for Win2k / XP.
