Disabling script debugging?

  Europa 21:42 17 Jan 2007

I have a regular problem, which is that in the middle of a surfing session I can have a window saying that :
Internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Then it closes internet explorer.
Om the microsoft website, they say you can download guided help to disable script debugging.
Is it safe to use?
I am using window XP Home.
