  Pilx2005 01:00 20 Nov 2005

It says that it failed to copy a file when i try to install it.

what kind of error did you exactly get ?

  Pilx2005 01:30 20 Nov 2005

It extracts the files for installation and then it copies the files and bout halfway thru it stops and says - Direct X could not copy one of the files, installation failed. - or something like that.

already tried that, and I get the same problem everytime. I have also updated my graphics drivers but that doesnt seem to have made a difference.

Any other suggestions?

Make sure any anti virus programme you have running is set to off before installing.

ok tried that, but it still didnt work...

reinstall xp?

A bit drastic to reinstall just yet,try the dxdiag reguest from the run menu and check the files and see what if any are missing or corrupt.
Also make sure you have enough enough free memory and disk space to install after extraction.
