just bought a canon power shot A300 from cameras direct - 3.2 Megapixels £165.43 delivered. Very good for beginer as thru the lenses auto setting but full of features for when you want to go further. This is my 2nd. dig cam the first one was so basic within a few weeks I wanted better. Lucky for me it developed a fault and I got my money back.

Have a look here click here out of the 310 choices I'd recommend the Fuji Finepix 2800 but it all depends on what you want it for and the size.

Forget the 310 choices just been further down the pages but there are 3 pages to choose from, plus this is a very good company to deal with, I've used them several times.

I have recently bought a Nikon Coolpix 885 from Digitaldepot for £199.99. These are Nikon factory refurbished ex-display models with a full Nikon warranty and all the new bits. Mine looks and works like a brand new camera.

Eddie, hi !

This is a very subjective area, you'll get as many recommendations as there are cameras available. As my grandad used to say, ' they don't shout " stinking fish for sale ! " on the market' - it's human nature. For what it's worth, set yourself a budget and go for the highest number of Mpix you can buy. To save time try click here
- this will give loads of valuable links. Be prepared to buy a mag or two to get the feel of the subject. Finally, buy from a photo specialist rather than a general store - a sweeping statement, but you get service from people who know - like your local Jessops
Enjoy the search

I bought mine in Jan in a special offer (about £160 I think, or maybe less). It has 2.0 megapixels. I bought it for taking pics for a newsletter I edit & I'm very happy with it - especially in SHQ mode (super High Quality)which they recommend for the kind of stuff I do. Only grumble is that it defaults to HQ (does anyone know a way round that?).
But it's essential that you handle any you're interested in - the top 3 in my shortlist were awkward/uncomfortable/etc when I tried them.
