Difficulties with ReadyBoost, Help Please.

  Alexx_B 17:46 08 May 2008

I bought a 8gb flash drive to help speed up my laptop.

I tried to use the "readyboost" but keep getting a message:

"Windows cannot open this file: ReadyBoostsf.cache. To open this file, Windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it. Windows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs that are installed on your computer.

I am trying to use this on a laptop, could that be the problem?

My laptop has windows vista home premium.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

The only things I can think of are that you're logged on as a different user or could have changed the name of the drive - or perhaps plugged it into a diferent USB port so it comes up as a diferent drive letter ?

I would suggest you delete the file and format the flash drive- MS appears to recommend FAT32 but according to this you can omly use up to 4gb click here
