Difficult Primary Slave HDD

  fullerbonks 17:13 25 Jun 2007

I have just fitted this slave, which is identical to the master 'C' drive. The baloons came up on the task bar recognising the new drive. It is firmly placed in the bios. It appears in "Device Manager" along with the master. But the PC refuses to give it a label and place it as the "D" drive in "My Computer". I have run Belarc, and it even shows up in there.
I'm desperate. Any Genius out there with the answer will be greatly appreciated

It must be initialized, partitioned & formated first. In disc manager right click & initialize.

click 'My Computer' and select Manage. Choose 'Disk Management' and see if the drive appears in there, if it does, you can mark it as active, format it and change the drive letter etc.

1st line should read... Right Click 'My Computer'
