Dial-up 'noise'

  Addie 14:49 13 Feb 2005

When I had a PC running Windows Me, I managed to get rid of the 'noises' that occur when you log on to the Internet. Whether it is just accute memory loss as to how I actually achieved this sound free utopia, or the merely fact that I cannot see how to do this with Windows XP I couldn't say for sure, but I would be grateful for any guidance in ridding me of the 'beeping'!
Thanks for your help in this matter. Addie.
