On a computer with a dial-up modem can it be connected wirelessly to a phone point in another part of the house and if so what is needed to do it?

You cannot connect your existing modem wirelessly, but I seem to recall that BT sold a "wireless" Dialup Modem and I've seen Bluetooth V.90 (V.92?) modems in PC World.

Bluetooth might not give you the distance you need though, particularly if there isn't a clear line of sight.

mgmcc, thanks for that I'll look into the BT one,
