Dell Laptop will not switch on

I have a Dell Studio 1737 laptop, still in warranty, that has decided not to switch on recently. I do manage to get it come on eventually by using the touch keys, but even this way I have to run my hand over them several times, the power button on the side will not work at all, can anyone help or has anyone else had this happen? Thanks

If it's still in warranty, you'd be best to talk to Dell. It's their responsibility to fix it.

Did you buy it direct from Dell or from another supplier?

If less than 12 months since you bought it take it back or contact the place/firm that you bought it from as it is the retailers responsibility to repair/replace it.

Possible siilar problem. My toshiba laptop failed to start up. Traced it to a faulty battery. removed battery and ran from mains. Worth a try?
