Dell laptop - microphone problem

The saga of my wife's Inspiron (Vista) continues. After having to re-install Windows and the drivers following a complete crash, speech from the built-in microphone is very garbled - son says it sounds like Mr Blobby. I am wondering if it is a driver problem, but have no idea how to locate the specific one for the micro or what to do when I have. Any tips much appreciated.

Would suggest that you download all the drivers for the Inspiron 1525 Service Tag 589PR3J and burn

to a cd than you will not be looking for drivers if you have to install drivers at a later date

Glad to hear all working again

Enjoy
