I have a Dell 1-GHZ P3... Right, my problem is that i do not know what make my motherboard is and if i can upgrade it to P4.
I don't think i can upgrade it as i can only have upto 512 RAM.

If i need to upgrade my motherboard what's the best on the market, the price and will i encounter any problems when trying to install it?

click here and the processor you are using is the maximum it will take. To upgrade will be a problem as Dell tend to use a special front panel connectoer to the case that wont fit on other motherboards.

Do you know why Dell use this special connector?

click here you may also have to replace the PSU as they also have proprietary wiring.

On the whole I think you would be better buying a new system (you dont need to update the monitor keyboard and mouse. But to go to a P4 ypu would need to change the RAM. Personally I would go down my local pc shop and ask them how much for a new tower case built with the RAM hard drive and modem from your present PC. I believe Celeron and AMD Processors will use 133 RAM.

Thank you very much! I read that artical and that's shocking! I think you may have saved my PCs life!

Thank you!
