On Internet Explorer 6.0 how can you delete the old ISP name, which is still being displayed on the top bar.

I have Microsoft XP Home.

Cheers.

You have to edit it out from the registry.

Click Start, Run, type regedit and press Enter.

On the left, expand HKEY Current User > Software > Microsoft > Internet Explorer > Main.

Highlight "Main". To the right, scroll down to find the item called "Window Title".

Highlight "Window Title". Right click, Modify, and change it to what you like. Click OK.

If you are using SpywareBlaster there is a facility to do it there.

For Outlook Express, also in regedit, on the left, expand to HKEY Current User > Identities > {string of numbers and letters} > Software > Microsoft > Outlook Express > 5.0

Highlight "5.0". To the right, look for "Window Title" again. Change as before.

Or you can simply delete the 2 "Window Title" entries for IE and OE - right click "Window Title" and select delete. Confirm.

if you have SpywareBlaster installed, there is a handy tool (tools, miscIE settings) to place whatever text you want into the top bar.
