Delete email messages permanently from hard disc

When playing with a recent cover disc I found there were 18,000 deleted emails still on the hard disc. Emptying the Recycle Bin has no effect. It appears that only the file record marker is erased while the contents remain in free space, and can be recovered. How can these files be permanently deleted?

Try VOPT (free 30 day trial) and go to tools/privacy and cleanup/x free space. It may help.
