I think Mike is just saying that any fool can cut and paste, so there is nothing very impressive about it. However, one also needs to save the URLs to get the active links, and keep the list up-to-date when new versions come out, or someone suggests better alternatives. I keep a notepad file and update whenever I come across something of interest.

Constructive comments always welcome if any of these utilities are unsuitable for XP or Windows 2000 systems, but I think that most will still work OK.

Yes, as you say, it easy to cut and paste but like you I've never posted a link to software I recommend that I've not tried out myself.

I've also downloaded software/manuals/patches just to test it out to help answer a thread.

I have used Webroot's Window Washer for some time, click here of course most of the actions on 'Cleaners' can be done with the utils supplied with windows.

You need the Ultimate Boot CD if you want to:

Run floppy-based diagnostic tools from CDROM drives. More and more PCs are shipped without floppy drives these days, and it is such a royal pain when you need to run diagnostic tools on them.
Free yourself from the slow loading speed of the floppy drive. Even if you do have a floppy drive, it is still much much faster to run your diagnostic tools from the CDROM drive, rather than wait for the tool to load from the floppy drive.
Consolidate as many diagnostic tools as possible into one bootable CD. Wouldn't you like to avoid digging into the dusty box to look for the right floppy disk, but simply run them all from a single CD? Then the Ultimate Boot CD is for you!
