My friend has just bought a new computer, because his old one was no longer up to the job.
He saved all his data to a spare harddrive, ready for transferring to the new computer.
The new computer has only SATA connections, no IDE and his old harddrive was IDE. Problem solved by purchasing a caddy (USB).
This brings up the question, as SATA gets more popular, how long will IDE devices be available and when it is time to move on from SATA will the same situation happen?
