what are data miners as a couple where found in my adaware search.

They are 'spys' that report the sites you visit back to their'owners'.

They report back ANONYMOUSLY...call it market research. They will have no effect whatsoever on your computer, part of the tiny price we pay for an open Internet.

Depends on how many you pick up. Seen many PCs with loads of these "things" installed - run like a sick three legged horse.

Remove them and it runs like new.

Sorry but they are not a "tiny price we pay for an open Internet". Now if their makers just collaborated and made sure that there was a way of limiting them then fine. But all the while they just bundle onto my PC willy nilly changing various settings, thrusting ads in my face every 10 seconds and causing various errors in IE as they all clash with one another - they'll get removed on a weekly basis and will be treated with the contempt they deserve.

I agree they are "harmless" but they are eating into your processing power, etc.
