Damaged laptop ram socket

I try to get my ram socket repaired, by a company one of the those no fix fee. However they said that the ram socket they used is not working due to having ram socket tracks damage.

Im now wondering what my options if the ram socket worked i would of been able to use a 2gb ram, at the moment im using a 2gb but i wanted to go up to at least 3gb or 4bg. the laptop is novatech L5510 rasor t8100 2gb ram 160gb harddrive, the warranty expired last year.

I dont know if anyone out there knows another comapny that might be able to fix this problem or am i better of scrapping it and using my desktop.

Surely 2gb should be enough for most uses?

"...am i better of scrapping it and using my desktop." - Well, that'll also depend on the cost of repair, won't it?

Have you asked this company / Novatech for a repair quote? G

"i wanted to go up to at least 3gb or 4bg"

What do you want to run that you think will need that much RAM?

if your warranty ran out last year then you will have to pay to get it repaired. I don't think there is any way around this. sorry
