d:\ setup.exe is not a valid win32 application

Whenever i try to install software through my d drive i get the error, d:\ setup.exe is not a valid win32 application. All the software has previously been installed on the pc but was uninstalled at some point.The drive burns and copies no problem.the software is mostly games.I`ve ran norton systemworks an and registry mechanic but they`ve not fixed the problem. Does anyone know what might be the problem and how i can go about fixing it.Many thanks

hi thanks for the above links.Although the problem isn`t fixed I managed to load the software by booting into safe mode.Thanks again
