Rumors are you need to apply the patch even if you don't own a PC!

It seems your kettle, washer, freezer, hi-fi, and all electrical appliances are at risk. Apparently some have been using the vulnerability to turn the heat higher on washing machines thereby shrinking you Bob Dylan concert Tee-shirts, and much more.

I don't think anyone needs to wory about this update. If you check the article (copied below) you will see it came out on January 21st 2009, a year ago.

This is just a quick heads-up that the emergency security patch for Microsoft’s Internet Explorer will be released tomorrow (January 21, 2009).
