Due to the fact that Bt and aol apparently don't speak to each other I have had a bit of a problem getting a bt 2100 router installed on my PC and "speaking " to aol. Having achieved that after downloading an update for aol users I then proceeded to install a bt 1060 network adapter in my laptop. after installation the network obviously works because I was able to access BT's configuration site but I cannot connect to aol from the laptop. There is no download specific to aol. Aol do not support Bt hardware technically and Bt haven't an answer. Any one got helpful advice.
Thanks

Disable any firewalls that are on your system.

In your Network Connections if you have a bridge then delete it from both PC,s.

The router isn't compatable with AOL...

You should try getting into the administration area of your router and checking your username and password, etc.

It was McAfee. I had to delete it totally from my laptop.
Problem no longer there. Installed Zone Alarm firewall and no longer have the problem.
Many thanks for the responses
