crashing pc

  Snrub 12:49 12 Feb 2010

When browsing my pc frequently crashes. Event viewer shows services such as Human Interface Device, Windows Media Player, Kservice have failed unable to detect service showing various ID events. Linking into the on-line Microsoft Help Centre the ID faults are shown but do not relate to XP which I am running. On other ocassions these services load normally.

Any ideas hoe to sort the problem would be greatly appreciated?

Start _ run type sfc /scannow _press OK

let XP replace missing or corrupt windows system files (may be part of your hard drive problem)

Thanks have run sfc /scannow.
Have also run Microsot hotfix in XP to check faulty add-ons for browser IE8 . Has come up with Google notifier and Viewpoint errors and removed them.
Will see if these make a difference.
