I finished building my pc last week and since then have downloaded h monitor. It is showing a cpu temp of 48-52 and a mainboard temp of 29. Is this about right? It is a athlon 2000xp with just the standard heatsink and fan.

This is pretty cool. Anything up to 60 is OK.

Thanks for the reply MalcSP. I just thought it seemed a little on the high side.

Just out of interest, how do you find what the temperature is? Can this be done for components other than the CPU?

I use Win 98SE and an Athlon 600.

stlucia I have downloaded H monitor which checks your cpu temp + motherboard etc. But check first it is compatible with your motherboard.

Also your M/Board itself may have the facility, if so go in to BIOS and have a look.

where can you get a program which tells you the temperature of the CPU and motherboard?
