Corrupt Ipod DB

  fazza8 09:50 22 Nov 2011

Something has gone wrong with my daughter's Ipod Classic set up with software 2.0.3. She has 33Gb of music on it but Itunes is reporting a problem reading it and it's only solution is to reformat. I have tried Foobar 2000 but it report an error reading Itunes DB. I think the DB is corrupt. Is there any way to restore it without losing the data? Thanks in advance

I had a similar problem with a granddaughter's iPod touch. In the end, I phoned Apple technical via a store and they talked me through a "forced reset". Re lost data, I assume all the tunes etc are on a PC, so the only lost stuff will be contacts etc. I ensure all iTunes media files are backed up on two different hard drives.
