I have a BT Voyager router 200 and I ay for BT broadband 2g package. I have one computer wired via ethernet showing speed at 2.2 mbps and the other via usb showing speed 10.0mbps can someone tell me is this correct and could or should it be better

It may be an anomaly of the different types of connection, but the 2.2Mbps should be the speed of your broadband internet connection, the 10Mbps is the speed of your "network" connection, i.e. between PC and router.

Try running a speed test at somewhere like "ADSLguide" click here
