I wasnt very clear in my last posting

I tried to copy a folder with data in it to the cd r/w drive which contained a blank cd

I got the message
E:\ is inaccessible (which is the r\w drive)

Hi - sorry... I might be stating the obvious here, but you can't simply 'copy' to a CD, you need to use CD writing software?

To drag and drop to a CD/RW disk it needs to be formatted first. Alternatively, if you don't format it you have to use the software that came with it like Nero Burn or Easy CD Creator. If you have Nero Burn you should also have InCD which is the formatter. If you put a blank CD/RW disk in E: you would have got a message to allow you to format the disk or if you do not want to format it to cancel it.

stutrav - what version Windows?

"but you can't simply 'copy' to a CD, you need to use CD writing software?" You can under Windows XP if CD Writing is enabled.
