Copying & Editing home movie on PC:Best Software ?

  Flopper 20:12 09 Apr 2005

I intend to download old home movies from my camcorder. Which is the best software package to download to, edit and digitise and then burn to CD or DVD?

Is probably one of the leading products, but be careful what you're buying. Some of their products only work on W2K and XP. You will also need some sort of video capture device.

Ulead Video Studio, stable, powerful, easy to use.
Pinnacle is supposed to be good but the version 8 I had never worked for me.

Hi, I have Pinnacle Studio V8 - works a treat on my XP-Home.

Thanx for the info. I already have a Ulead so I will give that a try. If it proves problematic I will get Pinnacle.

seek more advice if ulead does not work for you as their are sound sync problems experienced by a lot of people with pinnacle

Well, touch-wood, I have not had any problems yet.
Though I do not use it a lot, have only made a couple of short films. So I am keeping my fingers crossed - it was not exactly cheap when I bought it. :-))
